Fishing the Nubian Flats Deep South

Flats fishing: Tours to the Nubian Flats Deep South will be focused on the vast flats on the mainland as well as some small islands off the coast of Sudan. On the flats, you can expect to encounter huge numbers of Triggerfish, but be warned – there may be plenty but that does not make them easy. The Nubian Flats also present regular opportunities for big GTs, Barracuda, Bohar Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, and Milkfish on the flats. Although unpredictable and rare, there are a few weekly chances week at Bonefish and Permit too.

The blue water and flat edges have the potential to produce monster GTs & Dogtooth Tuna, not to mention Baracude & Grouper species.

Extra Info

Security: This needs to be addressed, as this is very often a concern when it comes to liveaboard destinations. The Red Sea,

West of Djibouti hasn’t had a single attempted act of piracy in the last 10 years. Combined with the fact that there is a big military presence along the coast of Sudan, the risk of piracy is insignificant. This area has been a thriving Scuba diving destination for well over a decade; in which every year upwards of 5000 European tourists visit the country for the sole purpose of scuba diving along the coast. There has never been an issue concerning the safety of these clients. To put this into perspective, over the last decade this equates to 50000 tourists.
