Triggerfish – GT’s – Dogtooth Tuna – Snapper – Flats Species
SEASON: March to Late June
DURATION: 7 Nights – 6 Full days
GROUP SIZE: 6 Guests
Nubian Flats Northern Season tours are no ordinary fishing trip. The Red Sea Nubian Flats offer the adventurous angler the opportunity to experience a setting and culture like no other and chase some incredible flat species while doing it. Fishing against the stark & barren Nubian Desert as a backdrop makes the electric blue of the Red Sea even more spectacular.
Tours to the Nubian Flats Northern Season offer anglers an opportunity to become modern-day explorers. This fishery is so new that new flats & areas are discovered on each trip. In addition, the liveaboard lifestyle creates a mobile fishing platform.
Fishing the Nubian Flats Northern Season
Flats fishing: The main focus of any Nubian Flats tour is targeting the numerous Triggerfish on the vast flats, nooks & crannies. Anglers can expect to encounter vast numbers of Triggerfish but be warned; they are never easy regardless of quantity. You will also have shots at big GTs, bluefin trevally, Barracuda, and Bohar Snapper on the flats. Each week will also present chances at both bonefish and permit.
The blue water and flat edges have the potential to produce monster GTs & Dogtooth Tuna, not to mention Baracude & Grouper species.
Accommodation on the Nubian Flats Northern Season
The mothership (M.Y Felicidad) offers guests the Nubian flats tours in high comfort. The mothership includes eight double cabins, each with a private shower and air conditioning.
Breakfast & evening meals are served in the top saloon area. And thanks to the intelligent layout of the boat, it is easy to find personal space for some quiet, if required.
2 x 6-meter panga boats support the tour with 40Hp Yamaha outboard engines.
Getting to the Nubian Flats Northern Season
The gateway for this trip is Port Sudan, an isolated town in the Nubian Desert. This is a very sparsely populated area and far removed from the security issues in South Sudan. We will ensure you are met by a Nubian Flats Northern Season representative & transferred to the mothership.

Extra Info
Security: This needs to be addressed, as this is very often a concern regarding liveaboard destinations. The Red Sea,
West of Djibouti hasn’t had a single attempted act of piracy in the last ten years. Combined with the fact that there is a significant military presence along with Sudan, the risk of piracy is insignificant. Furthermore, this area has been a thriving Scuba diving destination for well over a decade, in which upwards of 5000 European tourists visit the country for the sole purpose of scuba diving along the coast every year. There has never been an issue concerning the safety of these clients. To put this into perspective, this equates to 50000 tourists over the last decade.
