There is no more relaxing bush experience than when sitting on the deck enjoying a refreshment and watching the sunset after an evening Big-5 game drive. The eight rooms at Bayete Zulu Homestead are all en-suite and fitted with sunken baths and open showers. Meals can be served in the indoor dining room or for a truly authentic experience in the boma under the stars.
A visit to Bayete Zulu Homestead Lodge offers two game drives a day, a cook and housekeepers to ensure your visit is as relaxing as possible.
Bayete Zulu Homestead Lodge is set in the heart of the ‘Big-5’ Manyoni Private Game Reserve. This reserve is considered to be one of the most densely stocked and ecologically balanced parks in northern KwaZulu-Natal.
Activities
When staying at Bayete Zulu Homestead you can rest assured that game drives will provide excellent close encounters with the ‘Big-5’ and multiple opportunities to view other plains game. For keen birdwatchers, the reserve boasts over 400 bird species.
The Lodges offer two game drives per day (timing depends on the season), during which your experienced guides will share their knowledge and love of the African bush. Game drives at Bayete Zula will not only be informative but entertaining too. Each drive will take place in open safari vehicles and traditionally lasts between 2 and 3 hours.
Morning Game Drives: The morning game drive leaves between 5:30 am and 6 am. Your guide will select a spot to enjoy the stunning views, whilst enjoying a morning refreshment.
Afternoon Game Drives: The afternoon game drive leaves between 4pm and 5pm. After sundowners and snacks, your guides will use the spotlight to find nocturnal animals, before returning to the lodge for dinner.
Nocturnal species such as ant-bear (aardvark), leopard, genets, night jars and a host of smaller creatures may also be encountered on these later drives.
Game drives have access to almost 23 000 hectares making up the Manyoni Game Reserve and strict vehicle limits at animal sightings ensure an exclusive game viewing experience. Guides are also in constant radio contact with each other keeping track of animal movements.

Accommodation
The Bayete Zulu Homestead boasts eight rooms, all tastefully decorated and comprising of twin or double beds. Each room comes standard with an open plan en-suite bathroom fitted with a spacious sunken bath and open showers. All rooms are equipped with air-conditioners and ceiling fans.
*additional single beds for children can be arranged.
Bayete Zulu Homestead is a fully catered lodge. A spacious well-equipped kitchen is at your disposal with a cook to assist with the preparation of meals, or to do it for you. The lounge offers satellite TV and the dining room seats 16 at a crafted dining table. The bar overlooking the rim-flow pool has all the essentials you may need as well as ample bar fridges. Meals are enjoyed in the indoor or outdoor dining rooms or in the Boma. A gathering pit at the Boma provides the perfect spot to braai or toast your marshmallows after dinner. A manager, cook, housekeepers, and a ranger will ensure your needs are met.

Passports: Everyone travelling to South Africa must have a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the end of travel.
