Little Bayete Zulu offers an exclusive use intimate bush getaway for a group of up to eight people. Guests are accommodated in four well-appointed en-suite, air-conditioned rooms.
The lodge is self-catering with a cook and housekeepers available to you. Between game activities take in the tranquil surroundings from the lounge and pool which boast panoramic views of the magnificent bush and beyond. Meals can be enjoyed in our indoor dining room or under the stars in the private boma area. Each day guests can get up close to the ‘Big-5’ that roam the reserve with two open vehicle game drives which are included in your stay.
Activities
When staying at Little Bayete Zulu you can rest assured that game drives will provide excellent close encounters with the ‘Big-5’ and multiple opportunities to view other plains game. For keen birdwatchers, the reserve boasts over 400 bird species.
The Lodge offers two game drives per day (timing depends on the season), during which your experienced guides will share their knowledge and love of the African bush. Game drives at Bayete Zula will not only be informative but entertaining too. Each drive will take place in open safari vehicles and traditionally lasts between 2 and 3 hours.
Morning Game Drives: The morning game drive leaves between 5:30 am and 6 am. Your guide will select a spot to enjoy the stunning views, whilst enjoying a morning refreshment.
Afternoon Game Drives: The afternoon game drive leaves between 4pm and 5pm. After sundowners and snacks, your guides will use the spotlight to find nocturnal animals, before returning to the lodge for dinner.
Nocturnal species such as ant-bear (aardvark), leopard, genets, night jars and a host of smaller creatures may also be encountered on these later drives.
Game drives have access to almost 23 000 hectares making up the Manyoni Game Reserve and strict vehicle limits at animal sightings ensure an exclusive game viewing experience. Guides are also in constant radio contact with each other keeping track of animal movements.

Accommodation
Little Bayete Zulu accommodates eight guests in four well-appointed thatched chalets with air-conditioners and fans. Two of the chalets are fitted with spacious showers and the two elevated chalets have an indoor bath and an outdoor shower. The chalets lead onto a deck with endless views of the surrounding bush.
The open plan lounge with bar, and dining room overlook a large deck with swimming pool offering a tranquil space for rest and relaxation. The outdoor boma is a great place to enjoy a crackling fire or enjoy an al fresco meal. A manager, cook, housekeepers and a ranger will ensure your requirements are met.

Little Bayete Zulu is an easy three-hour drive from King Shaka Airport in Durban, just 33km north of Hulhluwe, and a six-hour drive from Johannesburg.
