Luxury tented camp – 8 Tents in Total – Max 18 guests
Verneys Camp (Hwange National Park) is found on a private 10 000 hectare concession within the Hwange National Park. Located on a concession in the remote southeastern part of the Park, Verneys Camp cannot be accessed by regular Park visitors. Verney’s Camp does, however, have access to the public parts of the National Park to expand game viewing activities.
Activities
Verneys Camp (Hwange National Park) is located at Verney’s Pan. The camp is surrounded by teak trees and perfectly situated on a large open floodplain. The waterhole in front of the lodge plays host to numerous animals and is a playground for the famous elephant herds of Hwange. Built with a philosophy to provide the feeling of timeless wonder of a classic safari to Africa. Of course, this means both sell-seasoned safari travelers and safari novices alike will be more than satisfied by the wildlife, experiences & culture at Verney’s Camp.
Game drives
Game drives take place each morning & afternoon, and always depart from camp. Each drive will explore the river systems and plains around the camp and lasts approximately 3 hours. The wildlife in the area is prolific with excellent chances to see larger predators, herds of elephant, buffalo and all the plains animals that occur here. Night drives begin in the early evening and offer guests a chance to see smaller more nocturnal animals with spotlights.
Walking safaris
Morning walking safaris are conducted daily and are always accompanied by armed guides. Smaller, often overlooked, flora and fauna are the focus on morning walks. Walks are, as such, taken at a very leisurely pace. Please note, walking is both weather & guide dependent, or dependent on terrain conditions.
